It is our pleasure to announce that the special issue following the 1st World Congress in 2015 featured in the Innovative Food Science & Emerging Technologies journal has just become available online.

This issue follows the 1st World Congress on Electroporation and Pulsed Electric Fields in Biology, Medicine and Food & Environmental Technologies that took place in Portorož, Slovenia, September 6 – 10, 2015; one of five.

Volume 37, Part C of the journal is devoted to this special issue bearing the title “Electroporation and Pulsed Electric Fields in Bio- and Food Technologies“, which has been edited by Henry Jäger and Damijan Miklavčič.

The issue captures the latest research on the topic of pulsed electric fields in food science and the featured articles have been thematically grouped under the following headings:
