The First Latin American Workshop on Electroporation and its Applications is being organized by the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires, with the purpose of promoting its use in the region, and of reuniting academics from different disciplines, such as Biology, Medicine, Veterinary and Food Processing doing research in electroporation, as well as developers and users of electroporation-based technologies.

Tentative list of titles of the workshop includes, but is not limited to:

  • Gene Electrotranfer: applications in health
  • Electrochemotherapy: applications in cutaneous and subcutaneous tumors in oncology
  • Irreversible electroporation: applications in gliomas
  • Electrolytic ablation and electroporation
  • Basic models in EP based protocols
  • Pulsed electric fields in food processing
  • Panel discussion of cases
  • Roundtable on the use of electroporation-based technologies in health and biotechnology in Latin America
