Brief presentation of the institution

BETA Tech is a private company founded in 1993.

Historically, BETA tech was operating in the field of airline industry.

However, the compagny recently decided to invest more in the development of an other sector : Electric Pulsed Fields.

In this way, the company has developed several devices able to pulse electric fields for different applications : -Extraction -Veterinary

Main Electroporation related topics

Major directions pursued in our group are cell membrane electroporation, electroextraction, with their application in biology, biotechnology and medicine, particulary electrochemotherapy of tumors (ECT) and gene electrotransfer.

In 2014 a major focus will continue to be research and development, particularly in the cosmetic and oil industry business.

Main Electroporation related research techniques and equipment

BETA tech has been developing and manufacturing innovative electropulsators since 2003.

Conception and design of these pioneering devices are the result of a long-term fruitful collaboration with Dr J.Teissié and his team at IPBS in Toulouse, France.

Today, after years of continued innovation, driven by the willpower to match the needs of the researchers, scientists and medical practitioners involved in all applications of electropermeabilization, BETA tech is proud to present these state of the art product :

- DEEX-BIO is a device specialized in the electroextraction of bioproducts.

- ELECTRO cell B10 HVLV is a bipolar square wave generator specializing in gene delivery.

HVLV mode: An efficient electrotransfer can be obtained by the successive delivery of a high voltage short duration pulse (HV) inducing membrane destabilization, then a low voltage long duration pulse (LV) allowing DNA electrophoresis in the cytosol.

For in vitro and in vivo experiments, ELECTRO cell B10 HVLV offers the possibility to set all relevant parameters, in order to reach the best efficiency for gene delivery.

Transfection parameters.

On the welcome page, choose:

  • Voltage level (U) between 0-1 000V (by 4V step)
  • Length pulse (T) between 5µs- 50ms (by 5µs step)
  • Period of the pulse repetition (P) between 0,1 ms -10 000 ms (by 5 µs step)
  • Number of pulse repetition (R) up to 10 000 or infinite (by 1 unit step)

- ELECTRO cell S20 is an unipolar square wave generator specializing in transfection procedures.

- ELECTROvet S13 is a veterinary device for electrochemotherapy treatment of solid tumors.
